The Anguished Cries of the Left

One of the great lefty complaints about W is that he lowered taxes in war time. Apparently the left believes that we were supposed to suffer during war - I never quite understood how watching our men and women serve wasn't tough enough for these folks....unless they really don't support the troops... - and that keeping taxes high, or raising them was the thing to do. This, of course, is a monumentally stupid theory as underscored both by history and our ongoing experience.

History teaches us that lowering marginal tax rates, as President Bush did, increases government revenues. Ongoing experience demonstrates the enduring truth of this proposition; Government revenues are soaring and Bush may cut the deficit in half three years ahead of his schedule. Well done I'd say.

Now, if he would just control spending.
